About potentially explosive atmospheres !

Equipment installed in potentially explosive atmospheres, and those connected to them, are not ordinary. They are subject to regulations and standards (commonly called ATEX – ATmosphère EXplosives). Since 1985, we design and manufacture equipment meeting ATEX’s requirements. A Puissance 3 has developed a real expertise widely recognized by its business partners and customers. We have developed a unique know-how in each department of the company: from developing and manufacturing to sales. Besides for several years now, our Technical manager has actively attended and contributed to the development of the ATEX standard commissions. A large range of products has now been designed to allow you to manage your sensitive processes as if you were working in common industry. We maintain constant contact with our clients sharing our experience and expertise to help you meet your needs and we organize regulary ATEX technical trainings.
Since April 2016, installations in potentially explosive atmospheres must comply with the ATEX directive, called ATEX 2014/34/EU directive.

In the Annex X of the ATEX Directive 2014/34/EU, the model of declaration is defined. It has to be used by all manufacturers, from now and at least from April 20th, 2016. This declaration shall be delivered with all products intended to be placed on the market of the European Union. It is used to declare the conformity of the products tocthe applicable directives. The products will also be marked with the European « CE » marking of the free movement throughout the European Economic Area.
Marking also includes an “CE” logo and notifies the body which delivered the ATEX notification (ensuring the production’s quality) – mandatory for apparatus installed or connected to a zone 0.

Evolution of concerned apparatus:
Where the previous regulation only concerned electrical equipment, the new directive applies to all materials installed in hazardous areas. Since July 2003, it is forbidden to sell equipment which do not comply with the European regulation.

The manufacturer engages to display and provide visible and clear information to ensure safe usage of the equipment, and in turn, users need to comply with the instructions given by the manufacturer...
IECEx certification is a global certification method of compliance of electrical equipment used in potentially explosive areas, regarding the IEC 60079 standards
IECEx is a voluntary certification. Not mandatory, it aims to facilitate marketing, outside the European Union, of the equipment guaranteeing the necessary level of safety in their use.

The IECEx standard is set of IECEx Certification Scheme and procedures that result. It is based primarily on international IEC standards and a number of documents available on the website of the International Electrotechnical Commission (http://www.iecex.com/).
